So I realize that last week I promised a "If I was a Pirate" post, however, I experienced such a mortifying event yesterday that made me want to change my entire blog post plan in order to potentially redeem myself from future embarrassment.
Allow me to explain.
So every time I am running errands with my girls, I always see these bumper stickers that say BAMA.
I was curious about them, so during one of my adventures to our local grocery store, I decided to ask one of the nice young cashiers about them.
Here is the following conversation that occurred:
Me: So there seems to be a lot of Obama supporters down here.
Cashier: ::blank stare:: What are you talking about?
Me:Well, I see a lot of bumper stickers with BAMA on them. Isn't that in support of our President?
Cashier: ::double blank stare, with a mix of intense hate?:: We aren't supporting that man. We are supporting the ALABAMA football team.
Me: Oh. Well. Oh...that would explain why those stickers are in red...I'm so sorry, I'm from the North. I don't know anything about football.
Cashier: Well, that's obvious.
I quickly paid for my groceries, and hastily rushed my little ones out to the car...
To hopefully escaped being labeled "That Yankee", I decided to put together an outfit I would wear if I was an Alabama sports fan...

So I realize that this will not renew my status as "cool mom" (if I ever held that title to begin with is another story), but I figured it couldn't hurt to make an attempt at showing my support of the local populace's love affair with their college team.
Now I'm off to see if I can offend an Auburn sports fan...
